THREE INPUT PATTERNS
Start with the records your team already uses.
| Input | What it contributes | Implementation question |
|---|---|---|
| Warehouse aggregates | Approved regional, product or cohort measures. | Which view, dimensions, period and query identity should be used? |
| Business-system records | Billing, pipeline, support or commerce context. | Which records and fields must be retrieved, and how will the metric be calculated? |
| Documents and research | The organisation’s terminology, prior analysis and supporting material. | Which documents belong in the workspace, and which passages support the finding? |

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL EVIDENCE
Match the records before drawing a conclusion.
Check that the geography, reporting period and measure definitions line up. A regional sales figure and a national economic indicator may provide context for each other without being directly comparable.
When adding external company information, match the internal account to the correct legal entity. These mappings form part of the integration.
THE RESULT
Show which finding came from which source.
A management report can distinguish the business’s own results, external context and the explanation being proposed. We can build that review into an application and, where required, add a separate action to update another system.
